AHA/ASA expands treatment window for percutaneous thrombectomy window to 24 hours in a newly released guideline at International Stroke Conference. The recommendation was based on DAWN & DEFUSE 3 trials. Moreover, guidelines also recommended patients who are candidates for carotid endarterectomy to be evaluated in 24 hours and treatment in 7 days. I suspect that these updates will see rise in eligible patient population by 20%. This may also have other significant practice impacts by enabling more interventionalists to become trained and offer this therapy.

This year at C3, we have specifically designed a session on Interventional Stroke Treatment: How to Start and Build a Stroke Program.  We will discuss these new guidelines and much more during this session.

You don’t want to miss out on this year at C3 – taking place June 17-20, 2018.
